Together with Guy Nordenson and Catherine Seavitt Studio, Architecture Research Office has finalized their research and master planning proposal entitled “On the Water / Palisade Bay,” an adaptive transformation of the New York – New Jersey Upper Bay given the risk of climate change, sea level rise, and possible storm surge flooding from hurricanes and nor’easters. The proposal considers alternatives to hard engineering solutions for flood control and re-conceptualizes the relationship between adaptive infrastructure and estuarine ecology in the 21st century waterfront city.
The final presentation and book launch will take place Wednesday June 10th at AIA
New York, Center for Architecture.
